The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) education system is plagued by low coverage and poor quality. 3.5 million Children of primary school age are not in school, and of those who do attend, 44 percent start school late, after the age of six.

Kids are eager to learn but they sit on the floors and don't have desks to complete their daily work with ease. Sometimes a few guys took chairs from their homes with them to sit during their learning hours. This is a common sight at the beginning of every school year in September the kids are responsible for bringing a load of thatch(roof covering of straw, reeds, palm leaves, or similar material) with them that's been used to repair the roofs on their school.

In Congo, have nine months of rain every year so having a good roof is very important even though the church runs 702 elementary schools, which are public schools & even though they're not free schools.

Parents are still responsible for the fees of their children’s due to insufficient amount of required funds but they don't pay very much and it's not very regular the school fees are modest by us standards in elementary school for tuition choose uniforms and supplies it'll cost about forty dollars per student per year in secondary school that's fifty dollars per student per year but seventy-one percent of the population in Congo lives on less than a dollar a day and most families are large five or more children so it's very difficult for families to pay even those modest amount.
